Florida multiple-car accident leaves 3 dead

Authorities report a chain-reaction car accident involving three cars in the morning of June 28 left three individuals dead. The incident was recorded on a surveillance camera, and neighborhood residents attempted to rescue the victims.

According to Miami-Dade police, a male driver of a Mercedes was allegedly speeding on Northwest 47th Avenue near 187th Street when it rear-ended a PT Cruiser. The PT Cruiser landed in a front yard after being tossed into oncoming traffic. It collided with a pickup truck and burst into flames after coming to a stop. The two individuals in the Cruiser perished at the scene. Police report that another individual was killed down the block from the first crash. The driver of the Mercedes allegedly sped through two yards, a fence and a light pole before the vehicle came to rest. The surveillance video shows the first fire truck arriving on the scene approximately 20 minutes after the collision.

After a car accident involving multiple vehicles, it may be a challenge to determine who is at fault. By using the information from an accident report completed by police and other evidence, such as crash reconstruction and eyewitness accounts, an attorney could build a case that seeks compensation for an injured plaintiff. That attorney might be able to determine all liable parties and build a strong claim against those who are responsible.

In this case, the driver of the Mercedes may be held liable if it can be proven that he was a drunk driver or negligent in some other way. The families of the victims who died in the other vehicle may be able to seek compensation for damages through a wrongful death lawsuit. Compensation might include funeral costs and lost financial support.
