Mother sues after construction accident claims life of son

The death of a loved one is always difficult for Miami residents to fathom, especially when the death occurs right before the holidays. A grieving mother is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against six construction companies, stating that they all contributed to her 28-year-old son’s death on Dec. 3.

The fatal construction accident occurred at Kyle Field in Texas. The man was part of a crew involved in the reconstruction of the stadium. He was on the northeast end of the stadium on a ramp on the fourth floor. The man was operating a loader when concrete fell into the loader’s bucket.

The concrete caused a domino effect. The extra weight caused the loader to fall. While falling, the loader hit a beam, and the man was thrown off. He landed on rubble, which caused fatal injuries to his head and body. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The 11-page lawsuit is holding six companies liable for the man’s death, claiming that Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations were violated. The accident is still being investigated by state and federal agencies.

A lawsuit can help a family move on with their lives. A sudden death in a family can cause not only grief, but financial hardships as well. The family can attempt to recover compensation for damages such as medical bills, funeral expenses and lost wages. There are also emotional damages to consider as well.

An experienced Florida personal injury attorney can work with those who have been injured or lost a loved one in a construction accident. Advice and guidance of such a legal professional can prove invaluable when determining whether to pursue litigation against those responsible.
